Ty’s years of engineering, senior management and investment experience in the aerospace, defence and high-tech industries has given him a deep understanding of how to start, manage and grow companies in emerging markets.
Ty began his career in the Royal Canadian Air Force where he developed an expertise for bringing new technologies to theatre. He then transitioned into the private sector – first working in systems and software engineering roles, and then moving into management, where he was eventually promoted to a senior executive role within a large aerospace and defence company. A self-proclaimed geek, Ty has spent his career at the intersection of technology development and business design. Today, he leverages his ability to envision the potential of new ideas along with his strong bias for pragmatism to help inventors, researchers, entrepreneurs and high-technology organizations bring their innovative ideas to profitable business reality.
